Trip to Ranthambore

The trip from Agra to Rathambore was torture. It is only

180 miles and took 7 hours. It seems every road in India is under construction and it seems like we traveled 100 miles of dirt road. Between the dirt roads, construction, trucks and small villages it took forever! But the drive was worth the effort. We checked into our tent at the Oberoi Vanyavilas in preparation for our safaris into the park to see the tigers, bears, sambas, peacocks and deer. It was like the safari ride at Disney but with real tigers. They are spectacular animals. There are over 50 that inhabit the park and we saw six of them in two days. During the last sighting we watched two young male tigers stalk a sloth bear. What an experience.
